>> arnold schwarzenegger is being sued. taken to court over one of the final decisions he made before leaving office. that was to commute the sentence of young man involved in a murder. as annette reports, the family of the victim is furious. >> he missed with the wrong family. >>reporter: surrounded by pictures of the the family of the 22-year-old murdered college student said they can't let what they call an injustice prevail. one of the men convicted of the murder n got his sentence reduced from 16 years to receive by governor schwarzenegger just before he left office. the move sparked

outrage because nunez is the son of an ally who the family says may have used his influence to call until a favor. >> it was the other fat the criminal's fat that acted with emotion that interfered with justice. this was a political inference on the judicial system. >>reporter: now despite an apology letter from swats meg the family filed a lawsuit claiming the commute was ill legal under marsy law passed to protect victims rights. family says they should have been notified before the commute. >> he betrayed all victims of california when he betrayed this family. >>reporter: neither the older nunez or swart neglect respon responded to our call and says the sentence was excessive when he was not the one who fatally stabbed santos. the attorney said i don't believe the lawsuit would have an impact on the commute of the sentence. because the rules and regulations were followed and

international team of diagnosetors performed a larynx transplant only the second time apparently this has ever been done and the procedure has restored a modest to woman's ability to speak. carolyn has more. >>reporter: for more than a decade brenda jansen couldn't use her voice. now the 52-year-old modest to woman is a chatter box. >> this is a long juvrnlt i'm still working hard but it's improving every day. >>reporter: she is thought to be only the second person ever to receive a larynx transplant. uc davis provided this video of the complex 18 hour surgery which took place last october. team of surgeon from his uc davis, sweden and england practiced on cadaver for two years before performing the delicate operation. >> this is just about the most complex transplant you could possibly about do. >>reporter: they took the larynx and thyroid glad from a
